Seaonics delivers Gantry Crane to RRS Sir David Attenborough

Seaonics has been chosen to deliver a Hangar Gantry Crane to RRS Sir David Attenborough, the new research vessel owned by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). The crane will be dedicated to hangar logistics operations and was developed in close collaboration with yard and ship owner to propose the most cost efficient and operational fit solution. “We are proud to contribute to NERC`s new flagship and this contract is a result of Seaonics focus on Research Vessels equipment”, says Jan Kjærstad, Head of Sales in Seaonics. The vessel is designed by Rolls-Royce and will be built at Cammel Laird yard in Liverpool. Delivery of the hangar crane will take place in Q4 2017.

SEAONICS secures a large equipment contract with FINCANTIERI S.p.A.

The new contract is the largest to date for SEAONICS, and comprises a complete package of winches, deck cranes, and overboarding systems including A-frames and Launch and Recovery Systems (LARS) for a polar research vessel currently under construction at FINCANTIERI S.p.A. in Italy. The value of the equipment contract exceeds 100 MNOK.
